VALENTINE’S DAY

On Monday February 13 and Tuesday  February 14, the children will celebrate friendship and love with a small party.  Your child is invited to bring in Valentines cards for his/her friends. Traditionally, most children choose to bring in one valentine for each child in the class. Our Anaphylaxis policy prohibits parents from sending in edible treats.

 With up to 20 children looking for 20 Valentine folders, it can be pretty chaotic.  For this reason, we ask that you help your child sign the cards only and leave the “TO” portion blank.  That way, your child, with the help of the teachers, can independently hand out one card to each folder.

PRE-REGISTRATION FOR 2012/2013 SCHOOL YEAR

Pre-registration for families currently enrolled in the school takes place March 5 – 10.  More information will follow in the March newsletter.  Don’t worry – the teachers will give you lots of reminders that week!

As you may be aware, the school is run by volunteer parents who make up our Board. Though the actual term is one year, several members of our current Board have stayed on 2 or 3 years, a testament to how rewarding and fun it can be.  We are still looking to fill a few positions and ask you, if you are returning, to consider taking on one of these roles. In depth descriptions are available on our website within the By Laws document or in hard copy at the school. You can also contact me (Sandy) in the Nursery School office for more information.

Other than the Treasurer position, no special skills are required, just a willingness to join in and help our Nursery School thrive.  Let your friends and neighbours know that we are holding an Open House on Tuesday February 21 at our Manotick location from 5-7 pm. General registration is on March 27.

ADVENTURE DAYS

Is your child entering Junior or Senior Kindergarten in September? We offer an exciting program called Adventure Days to supplement their Kindergarten experience. It is offered one half day per week and there are no duty days, committee work or fundraisers.  Since we limit each group to 8 children, classes fill quickly. Themes include Mini Chefs, Oooey Gooey Science and Around the World Adventure. The cost is just $75/month and more information will before pre registration.

FAMILY DAY

The Nursery School will be closed on Monday, February 20 – Family Day.
