Co-op Committments

Members of this Co-operative are required to:  (not required for Adventure Day programs)

1. Attend duty days on a rotational basis to assist teachers in their child’s class.  This applies to Junior and Senior Pre-school classes.  The frequency of Duty Days depends on class enrolment but normally occur once every 5-6 weeks or so.
2. Support the operation of the school either by serving on the board of directors, acting as a committee chairperson or by serving on two committees.  The time commitment for these positions vary:

Board of Directors: these are elected roles and require directors to attend monthly Board meetings as scheduled.  Their work tends to be fairly steady throughout the year.  The Board of Directors works closely with the Nursery School Director and teaching staff to plan, budget for and implement the activities of the school for the school year.  There are specific committees set up to help Directors with Board responsibilities.

Committee Chairs: these roles are assigned based on preferences stated on the Parent Participation forms.  Committee Chairs organize the work of their committee and delegate work to their committee members.  They have support from, and must communicate their progress to, the Vice Chair on the Board of Directors.  Depending on the committee, work as a Chair can be evenly distributed throughout the year, or concentrated around key events.

Committee Members: these roles are assigned based on preferences stated on the Parent Participation forms.  Much of the work is shared with other committee members and, depending on the committee, can be evenly distributed throughout the year or concentrated around key events.  All committee members have the support of their Committee Chair as well as the Vice Chair on the Board of Directors.
